Housing Provides Resident with Chance to Recover

Pioneer's Phoenix House in Spokane, provides affordable housing for adults working towards mental health recovery (adults with children allowed). The program offers housing for up to six months, giving individuals ample time to look for permanent housing. 

In celebration of the 4th of July, staff created a "What does independence mean to you?" contest and one of the resident's shared her gratitude in a letter. Cathi was homeless when she was released from the hospital. Safe and affordable housing gave her the opportunity to recover after major surgery and have a home base for care teams (occupational therapy, physical therapy, mental health counseling, visiting nurses, etc.) to meet with her and provide services.
