Training and Job Development

At Pioneer, we believe employment is fundamental for helping formerly incarcerated individuals realize they have a chance for change. That’s why we offer a variety of basic job readiness skills and occupational training programs to help people find and retain jobs. Our students benefit from a broad curriculum that includes time management, problem-solving, team-work and specific occupational skills. An apprenticeship program is also offered partnership with the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) and local community colleges. The program provides occupational skills training that combines 93 percent supervised on-the-job training experience with 7 percent classroom instruction.

On average, 60 percent of formerly incarcerated individuals in the U.S. are still unemployed one year after being released – we can do better.
