The King County Corrections-Based Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center provides in-jail treatment to individuals incarcerated due to a substance use disorder.
Services
Evidence-based curriculum includes:
- Living-in-Balance is a comprehensive treatment program that emphasizes relapse prevention delivering psycho-educational and experiential training designed to enhance program participant level of functioning in key life areas that are often neglected with prolonged substance use.
- Moral Reconation Therapy is a cognitive behavioral approach with a systematic treatment strategy that seeks to decrease recidivism in individuals who were formerly, or are currently, incarcerated by increasing moral reasoning. The therapy progressively addresses ego, social, moral, and positive behavioral growth.
eligibility
All program participants are currently incarcerated in the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center. Referrals are based on screening initially conducted upon entry to the facility.
