May is Mental Health Month

You are here

The struggle with mental health is a common one as one in five Americans struggle with a mental health issue. It’s likely we all know someone who has this struggle and it’s important to remember that they’re not alone. There are always people going through something similar and there are always people who can help.

Pioneer helps by providing several mental health and substance use disorder programs across Washington State – but it’s also vital to take time each day to focus on your own mental health. It’s so easy to get caught up in daily life and routines and neglect your needs. Mental health needs to be nurtured. Strong mental health and self-care will improve all aspects of your life.

Here are some simple tips for achieving strong mental health:

  • Meditate
  • Get physically active
  • Connect with others
  • Get enough sleep
  • Eat well
  • Stay positive
  • Help others
  • Talk to a professional

To help raise awareness of Mental Health Month, Pioneer is participating in the NAMI Walk in Kirkland, WA.
