KUOW FM Interviews Karen Lee on How to Help Keep Individuals from Returning to Prison

Pioneer’s CEO, Karen Lee, was recently interviewed by Emily Fox on KUOW FM on how Washington can help keep formerly incarcerated individuals from returning to prison. Karen Lee was recently appointed to the newly formed Washington State Reentry Council. Listen to the interview HERE.
Over the last year, Pioneer has been working closely with Representative Eric Pettigrew and members of the faith community to advance the Reentry Council initiative. It was first introduced to the legislature in January 2016 and after several hearings it became state law on June 6, 2016.
The Reentry Council brings together government agencies, community leaders, social service organizations formerly incarcerated individuals to work hand-in-hand to help people change their lives. It will also advise the legislature and governor on all reentry-related issues, such as removing barriers to housing and jobs.
Pioneer is very honored to be part of the Reentry Council as we believe it will drive significant changes in how we support men and women as they transition back into communities across this state.
